Newton Young Professionals schedules one standard event each month called a Lunch-and-Learn. In addition to a meal and networking, Lunch-and-Learns typically provide time for a not-for-profit organization to address the group briefly, followed by a civic or business leader who facilitates an educational or professional development time with question-and-answer at the end.
In addition, any given month may include separate events for NYP members as well. This might be a tour of a local organization. It might be a sporting event…either going as a group to watch the Wingnuts, or playing on an NYP bowling, dodgeball or volleyball team. It might include a community service event, such as our quarterly clean-up of Sand Creek. Or it may be an evening mingle where members can enjoy hor dourves and “adult” beverages.

Lunch-N-Learn: A Rising Entrepreneur

We will be hearing from Carlos Fernandez as our main presenter and Brandon Eck, of The Gathering, as our non-profit.
Fernandez is a rising entrepreneur in the tech world. And while his work has taken him from Silicon Valley to the Oval Office, TWICE, he doesn’t allow his accolades or his fanfare to change him. His goal is to help others succeed.
“My why is to represent change,” Fernandez said. “When people see me, I want them to be inspired. I’m still working on my legacy, but I do know I want to spark positive change.”
Creating change hasn’t come easy for Fernandez, 31, managing partner for Page Out, LLC and co-founder of Clutch Studio, a mobile app-house. Page Out is a mobile application for volunteer firefighters and EMS responders that allows for a quick and easy assessment of resources and availability.
We will again meet on the Bethel College campus in the Mantz Library Lounge on the first floor. Parking is available to the north in the stadium parking lot.
Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 10.
