Newton Young Professionals is now Emerge: Harvey County

Over the past couple of months, we have been referring to some “big changes” on the horizon for our Newton Young Professionals. Now, we can finally share the news! Newton Young Professionals is officially rebranding, and will now be called “Emerge: Harvey County.”

Our rebrand has been under discussion for some time, as several Young Professionals organizations across the state of Kansas have worked to rebrand their organizations so they are more inclusive to young adults who might not consider themselves “professional.” Rather, the name “Emerge: Harvey County” is symbolic of the fact that our organization is made up of emerging leaders from several communities who wish to create a brighter future for Harvey County.

Along with a change of name, Emerge is adopting a new purpose statement:

“The purpose of emerge is to connect emerging leaders to build a thriving Harvey County.”

Transitioning from our previous mission and vision statements, our new purpose statement is concise, clear and all-encompassing of what we do, and the impact we wish to make.

Along with our new purpose statement, we have added 3 core values:
1. Grow: develop leaders and our communities.
2. Engage: connect leaders with each other and the communities.
3. Serve: elevate our communities.

With all of these changes in place, we are looking forward to some new initiatives and ways to curb our programming to really achieve our purpose.

Emerge is still a Young Professionals organization, and is still a program under the Newton Area Chamber of Commerce. If you have any questions, or if you’re interested in more information about Emerge and what we’re all about, contact us at newtonyp@outlook.com, or call (316) 283-2560.
